Baby & Toddler Carriers
Different styles for different stages, needs and ways of carrying.
There’s no single baby carrier that works best for everyone. Your baby’s age, how often you carry them, where you use it and what feels comfortable for your body all matter. I’ve included different types of carriers here — from lightweight everyday options to structured carriers and hip-seat styles — so you can compare them and choose what works best for you and your baby.

Chicco EasyFit Baby Carrier
Age/Weight Range: Birth to 9 kg
Carry Positions: 2
Why It Made the List: Easy to put on, lightweight and comfortable for everyday use. The ergonomic seat supports baby’s natural “M” leg position, while the simple adjustable design makes it a practical first carrier for the early months. A great option if you want something uncomplicated, supportive and easy to use for everyday carrying.

LuvLap Royal Hip Seat Carrier
Age/Weight Range: 6 to 24 months (15 kg)
Carry Positions: 4
Why It Made the List: The supportive hip seat helps distribute your baby’s weight more comfortably, with four carrying positions for flexibility as your baby grows. A practical option for older babies and toddlers, especially for longer periods of carrying.

Infantino Flip 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier
Age/Weight Range: 3.6 to 14.5 kg
Carry Positions: 4
Why It Made the List: Comfortable, adjustable and easy to use, with four carrying positions and good support. I used this with both my babies and loved it, it was one of those baby products I kept reaching for.

Snugs Ergonomic Baby Carrier Luxe
Age/Weight Range: 8 months–4 years (20 kg)
Carry Positions: Multiple carrying positions
Why It Made the List:Lightweight, breathable and much less bulky than many structured carriers, making it convenient for everyday use and travel. I used this with my second baby and really liked how light and easy it felt. It does need to be adjusted properly to get a secure, comfortable fit.

BuTT BaBy Carrier with Hip Seat
Age Range: 3–36 months ( 18 kg)
Carry Style: Hip-seat carrier
Why It Made the List: The supportive hip seat and built-in storage pockets make this especially practical when you’re out with your baby. I used this with my first baby and loved it. Just make sure you position and adjust it properly, an incorrect fit can put unnecessary strain on your back.
Play Pens & Play Mats
A safe space to play, explore and grow — and one of my most-used baby purchases.
A playpen was genuinely one of the best things I bought for my babies, and something I would definitely recommend. I used one with both my children until they were walking steadily. It gave them a safe space to practise crawling, standing and walking — first holding onto the railings and walking along the sides, and eventually walking confidently across without support.
I recommend going for the larger 150 × 180 cm size if you have the space. I personally wouldn’t choose the smaller 120 × 120 cm option — it gets cramped quickly and doesn’t give a growing baby enough room to properly crawl, practise walking and play.
Whichever playpen you choose, you’ll also need a good play mat to use inside it, so I’ve included both playpens and play mats in this section. Play mats remain useful well beyond the playpen stage too — for tummy time, crawling, floor play and everyday play as your child grows.

Dawnwake Playpen 150 × 180 cm
Age Range: 0–5 years
Size: 150 × 180 cm
Type: Non-foldable playpen
Why It Made the List: I used this playpen with my second baby and found it extremely sturdy and durable. The generous size gives babies plenty of room to crawl, stand, practise walking and play comfortably as they grow. It creates a safe, dedicated play space while still giving them plenty of freedom to move and explore. Do note that the play mat needs to be purchased separately.

Star&Daisy Playpen 150 × 180 cm

Why It Made the List: I used this playpen with both my children and found it spacious, and very practical for everyday use. This gives babies plenty of room to crawl, stand, practise walking and play comfortably as they grow. Do note that the play mat needs to be purchased separately.

TARKAN Extra Thick Reversible Baby Play Mat
Size: 6.5 × 4.5 ft
Thickness: 8 mm
Why It Made the List: A thick, cushioned play mat designed to make hard floors more comfortable for tummy time, crawling and everyday floor play. It’s foldable for easier storage, reversible, BPA-free and BIS safety certified. The generous size also makes it a practical option for using inside a larger playpen.

LuvLap Wild Woods Double-Sided Baby Play Mat
Size: 195.5 × 147 cm (6’5” × 4’10”)
Thickness: 8 mm
Why It Made the List: A large, well-cushioned mat that gives babies plenty of space for tummy time, crawling and floor play. The waterproof surface makes everyday spills and messes easy to wipe clean, while the double-sided design gives you two looks to choose from. Its generous size also makes it a good option for using inside a larger playpen.
Play Gyms & Sensory Mats
For those early months of looking, reaching, kicking and discovering.
Play gyms and sensory mats are especially useful during the early months, when so much of your baby’s development happens through floor play. Hanging toys, different textures, sounds and colours encourage babies to look, reach, grasp, kick and explore. They’re also a great way to make tummy time and independent play a little more engaging.

Potty Seats & Step Stools
A safer, easier setup for learning to use the big toilet.
I personally prefer a potty seat that attaches directly to the adult toilet, paired with a separate sturdy step stool. The potty seat helps your child feel secure and comfortable, while the step stool makes it easier to climb up safely and gives their feet proper support while sitting.
I also recommend choosing a potty seat with handles — having something to hold onto can help little ones feel safer and more confident, especially when they’re first getting used to the big toilet. Always check that the potty seat fits your toilet securely before buying, as toilet shapes and sizes can vary.
I prefer a separate step stool rather than one attached to the potty seat because it stays useful long after potty training. Your child can continue using it for washing their hands, brushing their teeth and reaching the bathroom sink independently.

StarAndDaisy Potty Training Seat

Type: Toilet-mounted potty training seat
Key Features: Handles for safety, soft cushioned seat, splash-proof design & anti-skid support
Why It Made the List: I used this potty seat with both my children and found it extremely practical. It fits directly onto the adult toilet, so children get comfortable using the regular toilet from the beginning rather than having to transition from a separate potty later. Bath Seats & Tubs
Practical options to make everyday bath time easier and more comfortable.
The right bath setup changes as your baby grows. In the early months, a supportive baby tub can make bathing a tiny, slippery newborn much easier to manage. As babies become more stable and independent, you may prefer a different style of tub or bath seat depending on your bathroom setup. I’ve included different options here so you can choose what works best for your baby’s age, your space and the way you prefer to handle bath time.
A very important safety reminder: Babies and young children can drown in as little as 2 inches (about 5 cm) of water, and it can happen quickly and quietly. A bath seat or tub should never be treated as a safety device. Always stay within arm’s reach and supervise your child continuously during bath time — even if they can sit confidently on their own.

Age Range: 0–12 months
Type: Foldable adjustable baby bather

The soft mesh is comfortable and easy to wash, while the foldable design makes it convenient to store or carry when travelling.
